Putin Voices Support for Trump’s Gaza Peace Efforts
“President Trump has put forward well-known initiatives, and, as you have seen, Russia supported them almost immediately,” Putin remarked during the second Russia-Central Asia summit in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. “We very much hope that these initiatives of the US President will be implemented.”
He stated that the proposal was “positively received from the outset, both in the Arab and Islamic worlds,” underscoring that carrying out the plan would be essential for ensuring enduring security.
Putin reaffirmed that Russia’s policy regarding the Middle East remains unwavering, founded on diplomacy and constructive discussion.
“Russia has always believed that the problems of the Middle East can only be resolved through political and diplomatic means,” he said, highlighting that Moscow is prepared to “support any peaceful efforts aimed at stopping the bloodshed and bringing calm to the region.”
He emphasized that “the most important, indispensable condition for long-term stabilization” is the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state.
The Russian president added that Moscow is vigilantly observing the situation and collaborating with Middle Eastern counterparts to aid in reaching a resolution.
